The APHA was approved to demolish 7 dwelling buildings containing 123 dwelling units at Boston Way Village, NJ007000003 as described below:

All 123 affected residents have been relocated and efforts are underway to secure funding to proceed with demolition.

The Asbury Park Housing Authority Board of Commissioners selected the Metro Alpert Group as the developers for the redevelopment of Boston Way.

The developer has begun the process of securing the finances needed to demolish the existing structure, estimated to be $1.3 million. Applications for state and federal grant funds have been submitted to the respective agencies.

It is anticipated that demolition and then construction work on the proposed 104 new townhouse style units will commence sometime in 2016.

Preliminary concept plans prepared

Part A application submitted to NJHMFA for FRM CDBG-DR (Disaster Recovery) funds

Tax abatement secured from the City of Asbury Park

Section 31 review letter secured from the City of Asbury Park (in lieu of site plan approval)

Phase I environmental report completed

Joint Venture MOU between the Housing Authority and development partners executed

Survey and geotechnical reports are underway

Construction plans/documents are in preparation

General contractor identified and construction cost estimating in progress

Demolition contractor identified and demolition cost estimating in progress

Supportive housing provider identified

Supportive housing and social service plan is underway
